Life is a little out of balance right now, but hoping to share my photos with you when I can and stop by your site to check out yours as well. Thanks for visiting! Enjoy!
This is another from my recent visit to the Fairchild Tropical Gardens. I remember the volunteer pointing me toward this one and calling it a Bat Flower. Tacca chantrieri, or Bat Flower, is a dramatic and exotic plant native to the jungle regions of Southeast Asia. When growing the Bat Flower it is important to keep in mind that you’re trying to recreate the jungle‐like environment in which it thrives.
The photo doesn't do the Black Lily justice. Much of the beauty of the flower lies in the long tendrils. They are flowering in the wild in Malaysia this week
People go through their life as if it were a movie, they are the star and the rest of us are just extras. I am no different...I am the star in my movie, yet I am fully aware that I am as insignificant to 99.9% of the world as a dot on a page. Although, I wonder if even a dot can make an impact, provoke thought or effect change. So posted here are the reflections of a dot...that's really a star.
First time I've heard of a bat flower, but I have to say that it does look like bats haning there.
