Moon Clouds

This was taken from my Mom's driveway...I went out one night to take out the trash and saw this beautiful moon hanging over her roof.

Christmas Squirrel

My boyfriend absolutly loves squirrels...and I saw this last weekend while shopping with my BFF for some Christmas gifts. As a testament to how I have adjusted my ways to accomodate this wretched economy, I normally would have bought this puppet (looks so real!) no questions asked...but instead I carried it around the store...then took it to the cashier to see if the price was a mistake or maybe it was on sale...then I left it behind. Two days later I took him to see it and we took pictures of it because cute as it is...we weren't spending $30 on it..at least I got to see the look on his face when he saw it...priceless!

Christmas Lights

This is my Mom's Christmas tree...it's the most beautiful tree I've ever seen. She puts so many lights on it...it's a heat source all on it's own! Below are a few more pictures that I took of the tree...I really like abstracts and I love how these came out!

Pantheon Dome

Another view of the Pantheon dome. This is one of my favorite places in Rome...actually I have alot of favorite places there...perhaps it's safe just to call Rome one of my favorite places :o)

London Eye

This is the London Eye, a wheel constructed for the Millienium and was so popular they kept it in operation. The little barrels that you see are actually capsuls that about 10-15 people can stand inside during the slow ride around the wheel. I am afraid of heights...I get really anxious...but there was NO way I was going to go to London and not get on the Eye...so on I went. In the middle of the capsul there's a bench...I spend my time on the bench clutching the sides, but the view was spectacular and well worth it. I'd do it again in a heart beat...even if it skipped a few times :o)

Rain Off Bowman's Beach

This day at Bowman's Beach the sky was so dramatic and gave us quite a show. By this point we were headed back to the car but I just couldn't take my eyes off the sky.

Isle of Capri

This was taken while on a bus ride from Rome to Pompeii...if I remember correctly I believe it is the Isle of Capri.

Rays of Light

Another shot from a drive across the everglades. This was taken from the side of the road...I find I spend about as much time watching the sky as I do the road when I make this drive...not the safest but it's always a show so it's hard to resist.

Gulf of Mexico

I stayed at an awesome hotel in Naples, Florida for a work function...they hooked us up with an executive suite with a huge balcony and this mesmerizing view.

Sunset At Bowmans Beach

This is another sky shot as we walked back to the car from Bowman's Beach about a month ago. I was an awesome day, the weather was perfect and then rain clouds formed out on the horizon which made for an interesting sky as the sun went down.

Everglades Sunset

This was taken as I drove across the Everglades one evening. I drive this route quite often and the sky is usually quite dramatic as I head into the west which makes a long piece of road alot more interesting.

Sunset Over Baptist Hospital

This was taken one night as I headed out to the grocery store and I noticed the clouds from my front yard. So I headed back in the house to grab my camera and I made a stop on the way to the top level of the parking garage at the mall. From that vantage point I could see straight out into the west and capture the changing sky as the sun sunk into the land. It was beautiful.

Angel Leaning into the Clouds

I was facinated by all the angels in Rome and I love high contrast photos so this really appeals to me.

Gonna Get Ya

I had a wonderful day at the beach this day. The surf and sky were beautiful. I took a ton of pictures that day and got lucky catching this bird and the little girl at just the right moment.

Pink Blooms

When we were in Rome, there were these craggly trees with the most beautiful pink blooms...all over the city...they were awesome!

Pondering Lion

I got this shot while being driven around London my first afternoon there. Doesn't it look like he's just stopped to pick up some scent or listen to something in the distance? I have no idea where it was, but I thought it looked cool. I didn't intend for it to be framed the way it was, but I guess because of the speed of the car I missed getting it when I intended and got something better. I think taking pictures works out like that alot...at least for me...alot of times I get totally surprised at how things come out.

Antennas and a Dome

I guess tonights a night for Rome...I never get tired of re-visiting that trip in my mind. This was taken from the top of the Spanish Steps while my girls were getting their portraits drawn and others looked on. Before I left on our trip I had been told that I would find Rome facinating, around ever corner history...and that was right on the money. I don't think I found anything disappointing about Rome, everything was beautiful...even a bunch of antennas in the Roman sky.

Pantheon

The Pantheon is one of my favorite places in Rome. It was originally built by Agippa in the first century BC but was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 118-125 AD. The most facinating thing is how incredibly light it is inside, yet there aren't any lights...just the opening at the top of the dome letting sunlight flood inside. It's beautiful and awesome. The floor has drains because when it rains, it just pours in and drains across the floor. Genius...

Walk From Bowman's Beach

I am absolutely facinated with the sky and most of my photographs end up being of the sky. This was taken while we were leaving Bowman's Beach. There's a nice boardwalk that takes you over these mangroves on your way back to the parking lot. If you spend some time on the bridge watching the waters easy flow, you will often see fish jumping out of the water...keep your eyes fixed they're quick little critters!

Waiting on the Tide

While in England visiting a friend, her husband took us for a ride through the country side and this little town where we played miniature golf and got an ice cream cone with a "flake"...a yummy, chocolaty, flaky candy that looks like a stick and they poke it into the top of your ice cream. Anyway, as we were decending into the town we stopped to overlook the bluff and look at the water and I saw that the tide was out and all these boats were just stuck in the muck...waiting for the sea to set them free.

Fireworks Abstract

Last 4th of July we went down by the riverside to watch the fireworks with the crowds. I took my camera thinking I would get some beautiful shots like I am used to seeing in the magazines, etc. Well...I clearly know nothing about taking pictures of fireworks...but I kind of like how some of the pictures came out...abstract but appealing.

Tower Bridge

A couple of years ago I visited a friend who lives just outside London. On this day, we had taken the train into London and after riding a double decker bus for a few hours, we got on one of the river boats and cruised up and down the river...super cool. By the way, this structure is often called the London Bridge, but it is really the Tower Bridge...they quickly corrected me...tourists!

Angels Against a Roman Sky

I just love Rome and I took this picture on a trip there two years ago. The week we were there the moon hung low and large every night. You can even see it in this shot.

Howe's Cave

During a recent trip to Schenectady, NY...we took a little day trip to Howe's Cave. It was incredibly cool and beautiful. I took alot of pictures, some like this one turned out like abstract paintings. I love the color, warmth and lines in this photo.

Everglades Surprise

Recently while traveling along Alligator Alley my daughter and I stopped at a rest stop so I could take pictures of the sunset. As we looked out over the everglades...we noticed this alligator cruising along the canal. Needless to say I missed the sunset, but when looking back on all the gator shots I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The water is really brown and murky and was in all the other pictures, but I guess the angle of the light on the water was just right for this one and gave it this beautiful blue.

Sunset Over Coral Gables

This was taken one evening that I was working late and headed for another floor in my building...when I stepped to the elevators and looked out to the patio on my floor...the sun was just beginning to set. I ran back to my desk to get my camera and stood out on the patio with the pigeons and took it all in. I am a sucker for a sunset...as if God made them just for me.

My Little Girl

I love this picture of my kitty. I just think she is outstandingly beautiful and as often as I photograph her, I have yet to get another that I enjoy looking at as much as this one.
