Trickling Creek
This was taken a year or so ago while on a trip to Schenectady, NY to visit Union College. The creek runs through a beautiful, peaceful garden with willow trees.

Rainy Sunset
Spent a few days in Ft Myers with some friends from London. On Tuesday we headed over to Sanibel for lunch, it was a rainy afternoon. Coming back over the causeway the rain completely grayed out the eastern horizon but to the west it was a clear, beautiful sunset. We parked in the rain and watched the sun go down as the windshield wipers methodically beat.
Evenually the rain spread across the sun and filtered it so all we could see was a red ball hanging in the sky. I just love the Florida skys :o)

Storm on US 41
Was driving on US 41 (8th street) from Miami to Naples this week, just as we approached Naples the sky grew dark and threatening. We got a good drenching, then it was beautiful and clear for the rest of the day :0)

Cardinal Surprise
Today while in Naples, I was standing in a parking lot and spotted 2 cardinals...I was so surprised! I haven't seen a cardinal since I left Iowa...they're so beautiful. I grabbed my camera and because I was in a hurry to catch them and the light was so bright...I really didn't think I'd get them...but here they are!

Waitin' on Dinner
Took a trip across Alligator Alley again this weekend. Apparently it was a bad couple of days for the wild animals in the Everglades because we saw more road kill than normal and the vulchers were everywhere. These were hanging out right at the end of the exit to a rest stop...I felt like I was in a Hitchcock film...creepy...and they weren't the slightest bit intimidated when we close we got to them...yuck!

Sawgrass Reflection
There are canals that run the length of Alligator Alley which is a piece of highway that crosses Florida. This day the water was perfectly still and made a perfect mirror for the sawgrass and clear blue sky.
