Bat Flower

This is another from my recent visit to the Fairchild Tropical Gardens.  I remember the volunteer pointing me toward this one and calling it a Bat Flower. Tacca chantrieri, or Bat Flower, is a dramatic and exotic plant native to the jungle regions of Southeast Asia. When growing the Bat Flower it is important to keep in mind that you’re trying to recreate the jungle‐like environment in which it thrives.

Rose Garden in Central Park

While exploring Central Park in Schenectady we stumbled on their beautiful rose garden. It's row after row of every kind of rose you could think of . There were benches surrounding the garden to allow visitors to sit and reflect. Further into the garden was a small waterfall. The garden sits at the edge of the park, where it meets a quaint neighborhood. These were two of my favorites from the hundreds of blooms.

Lily?

Over my vacation we visited a home out in the redlands and they had a whole patio area full of these flowers. I thought at first they were a form of calla lily, but after comparing the photos I don't think so. I'd love to know what they are...so if you know please leave a comment with the name. Either way, they were beautiful :0)
